Equipment

We have the technology, and we know how to use it.

Video

We use Digital 3-Chip DVCAM cameras for the best images possible. (1,000,000 pixels and over 700 lines of resolution) All recordings are made onto Digital DVCAM tapes. These have direct compatibility with broadcast cameras. When necessary we use on-site a color-critical video monitor for precise under-standing of field color.

DVCAM tapes are a digital recording medium that ensures your recordings are archived with no quality degradation. Archived master DVCAM tapes are not susceptible to VHS and S-VHS tape degradation. Digitally mastered tapes have a shelf life of over 30 years, compared to S-VHS tapes, which may begin to degrade as soon as a recording is made. Most consumer brand videotapes have a useable shelf life as short as three years, and generally last no longer than eight years.

Using our Digital Master (master DVCAM tapes) all subsequent copies are of excellent quality. DVCAM offers over 700 lines of resolution compared to 300 lines of resolution for S-VHS. Our DVCAM master tapes each record for a span of 2 hours so there are no unnecessary interruptions due to frequent tape changes.

Audio

We use low-profile (lapel) microphones with excellent sound quality. Each participant has their own microphone for precise and clear audio recording. Very small microphones create minimum distraction. Witness only on channel one. Full mix on channel two.

Balanced audio controls provide noise-free recordings. Separate pods for precise control of microphones. Multi-channel audio input from mixer produces high quality audio from even the most soft-spoken witness.  Headphones available for both the video technician and the court reporter. VU meters for precise audio level adjustment. Audio reference tone for accurate audio duplication.

Individual microphones eliminate the need to constantly shift microphones from attorney to attorney during questioning. PZM table microphones are available. A PZM microphone is ideal when there are numerous attorneys actively participating. Wireless Shure microphones are available for use during presentations, seminars, in the courtroom or any time you need to move about freely.

Backdrops

Deposition packages can include oversized backdrops. This allows us to record a deposition in multiple locations while still maintaining visual continuity. The use of a neutral static background improves the appearance of the video image and also provides more attention to deponent.

Lighting

New technology and low-light capability allow most depositions to be videotaped with existing light sources. Lighting kits are available to minimize shadows and provide additional lighting when needed.
