About Worldwide Video

Many countries have different TV broadcasting systems without compatibility among them. This means a video tape recorded in one country can not be viewed or duplicated in another country. For example, American video tapes made with the NTSC standard cannot be played by users in Europe or the UK, which uses the PAL standard. A tape from India is not compatible with the system used in neighboring China.
The accelerating trend toward globalization creates more and more occasions to exchange video information for both business and personal use. However, different TV and video standards sometimes make it impossible to view programs or tapes from other countries. A MULTISYSTEM CONVERTING VCR solves this problem, allowing borderless exchange of information between the USA and the rest of the world.
Worldwide there are three major TV broadcasting systems - NTSC, PAL & SECAM -each of which uses a different number of scanning lines and fields, and each with a different color signal processing system.
