Contact us with your questions on tape transfer, proper storage, and restoration. If you are unable to identify a tape, we can help.

If your tape inside has been damaged in any way it could cause added damage to itself, not to mention damage to your VCR. If your VCR gets damaged it could then damage other precious tapes.

Do not try to disassemble the video cassette housing and attempt to repair it yourself. Doing so, may make the tape impossible to repair. Inside the cassette are tension springs, rollers, etc. This is best done by a professional. Do not rewind the tape into the tape housing. Leave it "as is".

Tapes damaged either by the tape itself being broken or crinkled or by physical damage to the tape housing or internals can usually be recovered.

Breaks can be repaired easily if both ends of the tape are in sight. If not we examine the the cassette to see whether or not we can fish out the broken ends. We may have to disassemble the cassette, repair the tape, and transfer it into a new housing.

If the plastic cassette itself was broken by being dropped or stepped on and the tape inside is still in good condition, the tape can be transferred into a new housing.

After repairing we can make a fresh copy of the video tape or transfer  recovered tape to another format. DVD is becoming a very popular choice. DVD's do not lose the video signal (over time) like video tapes do.

We provide estimates on all work before we process your tape.
