UVW-1800 Betacam SP Editing Recorder/Player
- Betacam SP
Editing Recorder/Player featuring Built-in Time
Code Generator/Reader, 90 minute
playback/record, 16 times picture search,
RS-422A remote interface, composite
input/output, Y/C composite input/output,
component (Y, R-Y, B-Y) input/output.
Especially
well-suited for Electronic News Gathering, post
production and on-air transmission, the UVW1800
VTR provides full editing capabilities of the
Betacam SP format. With built-in time code
generator/reader, time base corrector and
high-speed picture search, it provides frame
accurate editing and consistent picture quality.
The UVW1800 also features 90 minute
playback/record, RS-422A remote interface,
composite input /output, Y/C composite input/output
and component (Y, R-Y, B-Y) input/output. It is an
ideal deck for creating Betacam SP dub from DVCAM VTRs equipped with component video output, and is
an economical way to build a superior editing
system.
-
The UVW-1800 is at
the top of UVW studio range. It is fully
controllable via a standard RS-422, 9-pin serial
interface and is able to perform frame accurate
insert and assemble editing on Video, audio
Channels 1 & 2 and Time Code tracks making it
suitable for use as a player and/or recorder in
a studio environment.
-
It incorporates an internal time code reader
with external input and output connectors, a
built in time base corrector allowing Time Code
to be regenerated as necessary. Dolby C noise
reduction is incorporated as standard. Video
inputs and outputs are available via composite,
S-Video and component formats. Audio input /
output is via balanced XLR connectors.
Features
Full Editing Function
When connected to RS-422A equipped editing controllers such as the PVE-500, the
UVW1800 functions as an editing recorder for assemble or insert editing. Frame
accurate editing is assured in both modes, thanks to the sophisticated servo
control and built-in time code generator/reader. In the insert mode, video,
audio CH-1, audio CH-2 and time code can be inserted independently or in any
combination. In the assemble mode, all of the prerecorded signals are erased and
replaced with new signals.
Built-in Time Base
Corrector
Provides stable pictures without any additional
equipment. Advanced, high-quality digital dropout compensation also ensures
consistent picture performance.
Built-in Time Code
Generator/Reader
The Betacam SP format has an independent time code track
so that a longitudinal audio track does not have to be sacrificed for time code.
The time codes conform to the SMPTE standard in which LTC and User-bits are
provided. LTC is used to identify the absolute address of a frame, while
User-bits are reserved for operator's use. Frame accurate A/B roll editing is
possible using the LTC.
